BEST halloween ever!

so right now... i should be napping.... im sick and really wanna get better... but i wanna post :D
on friday night, i went to a Skillet concert with my RA and some other people.... it was AMAZING! hawk nelson, decypher down, and the letter black played as well. my body ached so bad from standing for like 5 hours!
halloween: a bunch of us went to red robin for dinner (so amazing! just the fact that is wasnt Aramark made me happy!!). then we piled into cars. my roommate has a mustang which can really only seat four people. and the other car was full. we had a dilemma.... there were 5 of us that had to fit into the mustang... one being a taaaaallll guy and the rest of us arent short at all. my roommate is the shortest but she would be driving. seth (the guy) ended up driving and my roomie sat in the back with us. so then we drove for an hour to go to Portland. there was a corn maze that we were going to do. so we did the haunted corn maze!!! so much fun! it was ridiculously muddy! my shoes are gross! we all did some serious bonding going through that!!! haha. after that, we drove back to school... switched up cars/people and went to dessert :D it was so fun! i was tired so i laughed at EVERYTHING!! it was amazing. then we went back to school and watched the exorcism of emily rose. creeeepy! it was so much fun though!! i got to bed at about 3ish (technically 2 because of the time change). it was a great night!

im sorry if this doesnt all make sense... im kinda out of it. hahaa.

oh snap!

tonight was the final of the Mr VG (van Gilder) competition. VG is a guys dorm and the competition is to see who represents the dorm best. the winner gets a special parking spot and stuff. haha. tuesday was the first part and tonight was the final. they did all sorts of things from carrying cinderblocks up a hill, improv skits, duct tape/cardboard costumes, a talent show, and heaps more. well tonight they did some fun stuff (there were four guys left competing at this point) then they did testimonies. WOW! one of the guys that i am closest to here was in the competition. his testimony was so amazing! it made me cry! he is the type of guy that ALWAYS jokes around and makes everything funny... but tonight i saw the serious side of him and it was amazing! he was trying so hard to hold back tears when he was talking.... it didnt work and he started balling halfway through. im gonna share a bit of it with you guys. he grew up in a Christian home... typical testimony. but when he was 13 (?) his dad left his family after cheating on his mom for 2 years. then Caleb's grandfather got put in prison, and his mom got cervical cancer. this was all within a span of about 3 years. then he said something that really hit me.... he said "i wish i could say that at this point i turned to God, relied on him, and trusted him. but i didnt. i blamed God.... i hated Him, and hate is not an exaggeration of what i felt toward God". that really made me stop an think. im pretty sure at this point the whole crowd was tearing up. to see where Caleb is now, i would never have guessed that he had gone through any of that. it shows how powerful God is, and that even when we turn out backs on Him, he never leaves us. it is such a comforting feeling knowing that i am placing my trust in someone who really will never fail me. it was a really intense night and that was the highlight!

okay so its amazing that i am posting for TWO days in a row! hahaa. but i just got back from a kegger (root beer!). it was hilarious! i got to see guys being idiot and having water balloons launched at them. this was an insane catapult... it took three guys to use it. the guys on the recieving end now have great big welts and bruises on their abdomens! it was so funny to watch.... they are dumb! haha. tonight i also went to a halloween party for my core group... so fun! we ate, played catch phrase and played rockband! :D i love them! oh and my friend, Sage, spent like 15 minutes working out the knots in my back. it hurt like none other and i still have a bizillion knots. :/ well thats my post! :D

i am NOT dead!!! :D

Well it was brought to my attention by a follower of my blog, that I have been slacking about posting. So now im posting! haha

I'll start with my trip home. :D it was a great weekend! It started with me almost missing my flight out of Portland! haaha. But I did make home :D So on that friday, I went to Valley in the afternoon and saw a lot of teachers.. which was great! :D Then I went home and we had a family dinner for my Dad's birthday. Then I went to see my youth pastor and I also got to see Jonathan, one of my friends who is in the marines. It was something I didn't expect so it made me super happy! :D On the saturday, I went bowling with some of my camp friends. It was amazing! So much fun! :D Then my aunt came down and had dinner with us. On sunday, i went to breakfast with my hippos :D which was great! :D Then I went to church and saw everyone :D I flew back that night.

Since then, school has been pretty hectic. I have been swamped with homework! Finally tonight I get a break : woo hoo!

Oh... and I went to a barn party on saturday! It was so fun! I learned how to dance :D l0l.
Tomorrow night I have a halloween party and a dodgeball and there is a root-beer kegger... and i just realized that they all conflict time wise. oh boy! haha. I guess I have some planning to do!
But yeah... that is my life :D

overwhelmed

dont get me wrong... i have had my moments while being up here... but tonight is the first time i have felt so overwhelmed with life that i have wanted to sit in a corner and cry. i dont have a whole lot of homework but i am trying to get ahead so that next week i can do my homework for the following week so i dont have to worry about it at home. im stressing about getting it all done. and i am trying to plan something with my camp people when i come home. at the moment, the plan is to have it in santa clarita, but i really wanna change it to long beach, but i dont know if people can get rides. and i wanna fit in time for any hippos that are free that weekend. ughh. and my heart is battling stuff which doesnt help at all. i wish life was simple! the 3 weeks of the summer that i spent at camp were amazing because life was perfect! i was disconnected from the real world and i had no problems! but of course that cant last forever. :( anyway..... i am so excited to be going home in 9 days! i am so ready!

homework, dorm meetings, food, and friends

Okay so my last post was not very informative, but this one will be! :D

Homework
I haven't had too much homework which has been heaven! But last night I spent TWO and a half hours doing ONE assignment for the class I hate (American Thought and Culture)!!! Good thing is that I did it with my roomie and two other friends so we chewed it over a lot and I actually understood it! Which is awesome! I have a test in that class tomorrow which I am extremely nervous about! I do not feel prepared at all! Luckily, I have a lot of time tonight to study! :D

Dorm Meetings
Last night we had a dorm meeting which was a lot of fun! We got split up into groups and we were given a theme. Then we had about 15 minutes to go to our rooms, get dressed according to our theme, go back our group, and make up a routine for our catwalk! I was in the 80's group, and we did our catwalk to THRILLER! It was fun! Haha.

Food
So on friday night, Bri (my roommate) and I went down to dinner and found out we missed it by TWO minutes! TWO!! Ridiculous! So we went back to the dorm and ate microwave meals. Then I went to Coldstones with someone and got some ice cream! YUM! Then on saturday morning, I (being the blonde I am) thought that brunch closed at 11:30. So my roomie and I ran down to get there in time. We get there and the doors are closed. We were so mad! We thought we had missed another meal! Then we went to the coffee shop to buy pop-tarts, but it was closed too! At this point we decided that we had failed at life. So we went to the bookstore and found some pop-tarts and bought them. As we are heading back to our dorm, two of our friends were walking towards us and asked us if we were going to brunch and we told them our story. They informed us that brunch STARTED at 11:30. So we walked back down to get food. It was out of control!

Friends
I have no idea why this was in my title. Haha. I am slowly but surely, getting to know more people and getting close to my hallmates. They are so amazing! Most of us have bonded really well! Bri and I have our door open 90% of the time so we have gotten to know people, but all of the other freshman in our hall keep their door closed most of the time :(

Miscellaneous
Brianna and I went to Wal-Mart and got a candle warmer and candles (because we can't light our candles). It makes our room smell so good! I absolutely love it! While we were shopping for food and stuff, we decided we wanted slip-on shoes. So we checked out the Wal-Mart shoes but decided to go to Target for shoes instead. So we went there and bought some awesome moccasins! They are the comfiest shoes ever! I love them! :D

So that is my update :D I am going home in SEVENTEEN days! I am so stoked! :D My roommate is going home this weekend which means.... I GET THE ROOM TO MYSELF! I think i'll be in other rooms for most of the time, I don't want to get lonely! Haha.

RAVE!!

so we just had a "rave" (a Christian version.. haha idk how that works) in one of the dorms. it was awesome!! we had glow sticks and it was fun!!! it was so nice to be in the middle of a group of people dancing and not have anyone making it awkward (if you know what i mean). a bunch of us crammed in the elevator from the balcony and went down to the level the partayy was at. it felt like people just kept pouring out of the elevator! haha. kinda scared me when we were going down! haaha. but it was fun and i got to hag out with one of my hallmates that i dont usually hang out with! it was funnnn! :D ooo and it was so gross... the guys were soo sweaty... one guy looked like he had just gotten out of a pool. haha. but it was ffffuuuunnn!

just thought i would share that since it was the most exciting thing in my life right now :D
