final sprint

this year i have to pick up my academics in this last month! i have always been able to slack off a bit at the end of the semester... but not this time! i need to do well on all of my finals and tests before that if i want to get the grades i want. so far my motivation levels have been good.... hopefully that will persist!

on another note.... my roommate has set me up for something that is called "roomies". its a blind date thing that the whole school can attend. im not 100% sure what we will be doing, but i am excited! i am also very nervous! haha. i trust my roommate and i have heard from other people that she picked a good person :)

im not really sure what else to blog about..... oh yeah! i am having serious problems falling asleep at night! it took me two hours to fall asleep last night! ridiculous!

i am going home with my roommate for easter so i am excited about that!

LENT IS ENDING soon!!!!! only one more day left without soda, facebook, and desserts from the dining hall!! :D

spring break.

so spring break is nearing its end. it has been a lot of fun! on saturday, we sat out in the backyard and tanned :D i got burned. haha. then i spent time with danielle which was great! then we had people over for dinner. on sunday, we went to church. i realized how much i miss my church! after church we had lunch and headed to the beach. we ended up at sunset beach. it wasnt the best... and it was not super warm. but it was still good! we went to yogurtland after that. on monday, we went to Disneyland! we got there at 8am and left at 10:45pm ish. it was a LONG day! on tuesday i had a dentist appointment that lasted almost 4 hours. i got xrays, 2 fillings and my teeth cleaned. my jaw hurt from being open so much! but i got some cavities fixed so i feel good about that! :D my mom and i stopped by youth group to say hi to the Solomons. that was good. then we went to yogurtland again. :D on wednesday (yesterday) we went to california adventure. we got there at 9am ish and left at 9:30pm ish. another long day, but not quite as bad! it was a lot of fun! today we slept until 11 and then went down to shoreline village. we rode a surry around and then looked at the shops. it was nice! im not really sure what the plans for tomorrow are, but its the last day in california :( i REALLY do not want to go back to school! i just want to stay here! i am so happy that i only have a month left before summer! i miss home so much!

spring break!

it is finally spring break! :D tomorrow at 7am... four of us are jumpin in a car and driving for 15 hours to get to LB! :D i am very excited to go home! i miss my family so much! so yeah... that is all this post is about :D

i NEVER post this close together! haha. but i am.
i guess this is an update on my last post....

1. Meg has gotten worse and has gone home. hopefully she will be back after spring break but its not for sure. :(

2. i got accepted into AMBEX (the study abroad in Germany) for the fall! :D i expected to get in but it is still nice to get the call confirming it.

3. i can not wait for friday! i want to be home SO bad!

4. once tomorrow is over... i will be very happy! 2 tests and a speech will be done! :D

¡viva la vida loca!

Life is good! This week ahead is FULL of busyness (3 tests, first 5 pages of a research paper, speech, packing for CA)! I am not quite sure how I am gonna make it through.... but I know I will! I was supposed to have two speeches... but found out a couple of hours ago that it will not be happening. It is a group speech, and one of our group members, Meg, has cancer. She found out about it in may but it has recently spread to three other places in her body. We got an email from her today saying that she was throwing up blood and is probably not going to be in class tomorrow. This whole situation made me realize how the things that I stress about are so pathetic. Here I am freaking out about a 2 minute speech while Meg is waiting to hear back from the doctor to see if she has to go to Portland to be hospitalized. Life is so short and I need to start making my life reflect that.
Other things in life... I am going to California on friday! I am so excited! :D It is gonna be a blast! That is my motivation to get through the week! Hahaa.
So yeah... not much else has been happening. Today is the 26th day of lent.... the 26th day of no facebook, soda, or Aramark desserts! I can not wait to be on facebook again! haha.

my weekend.

This weekend was a bit of a roller coaster. On Friday night, my friends were taking me to the movie theater to meet the rest of the group... and I got a text from my mom saying that someone who has been like an uncle to me (I called him Uncle Norm) had passed away. He was one of my mom's closest friends and he was always a part of my life when I lived in NZ. This news shocked me... he did have cancer but I had not heard anything about it for a long time. It definitely took me by surprise. I have been thinking about Uncle Norm a lot since friday... and it is hard to realize that someone who was such a huge part of my life and my memories is no longer walking on earth. He was the person who taught me how to slurp spaghetti, he cooked amazing meals for my family, he made little popsicle things that he always gave me when I went to his house, we went on "road trips" with him, and we did a lot of stuff together. It sucks that I never realized how huge of a role he played in my growing up until now. I wish I had realized before now so that I could have shown my appreciation. But I didn't... and I will probably regret that for the rest of my life, but there is nothing I can do about it. So the start of my weekend was a huge downer.

Onto more enjoyable things.... we saw Alice in Wonderland 3D on Friday night. I LOVED IT! :D After the movie we went to Sharis for dessert/breakfast. Then I went to the Panda/Trojan retreat. There was not a lot of people there... and they were mostly girls. It was still fun though! We played sardines in this creepy, huge, and maze-like church until 4am. Then we watched Robin Hood: Men in Tights, well I didn't... I slept through it :D haha. Then we woke up at 9am and ate a delicious breakfast of eggs, chocolate chip pancakes and orange juice. After that we headed for THE BEACH!!!! It was SO amazing! The weather was magnificent! I didn't need a sweater on! :D So we hung out at the beach for a few hours. Then we went shopping at an outlet mall. I didn't buy anything but it was fun to look :D After that we headed back to school. It was an amazing day! I got to hang out with people I did not know. None of my close friends were there so it was a good break from our group :D It was a wonderful break from life! So my weekend was pretty roller coaster-ish but it was a good one.

I GOT A 93% ON MY STATS TEST!! :D i just thought i would tell you all how extremely excited i am about that! :D i got an 85% on the first test and a 73% on the second one. :/ I AM SO EXCITED! :D

today is my friend, Rachel's, birthday... so we are going to see Alice in Wonderland :D YAY! i am very excited! then after that, i am going on a retreat with the fellowship i am in, and out brother fellowship :D we are going to the beach tomorrow! yay!! i am very excited! :D well thats all i have to say... have a great weekend everyone!
