camp pendleton

IS HUGE!!!!!!!!!! I always thought it was just boring brown hills that ran down the side of the freeway. BUT its like its own city! It has houses and trees like a little city and it has a supermarket, dvd rentals, subway, church's chicken, and a ton of stuff! It took us 20 minutes to get from the gate to where we needed to be, and then like 35 to keep going and get out again!!! Thats like an hour just to get from one side to the other!!!

But yeah, we picked up my friend and his buddy that had to be with him at all times, then we drove into Oceanside and ate at an amazing place! The guys wanted some GOOD food so we went to a chinese buffet so that they could eat as much as they wanted! It was amazing food! I have never had chinese food like that! Mmmmmm! It was yuuuummmyy!!! So it was really cool to hang out with Ben and talk a bit. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time because we got there around 2:45 and they had to be back on duty at 6:00. But it was pretty cool to see him again.

My day was fun! And I got most of my homework done!! :]

escape

AHHHHHH! I totally just spent like 3 freakinn hours on the dumb AP Gov review guide. Oh well, its done! :]

So I have been wanting to post since like monday. So now everything is gonna come out.

It's definitely cliche but lately, everything in my life has been screaming "Life is too short". I watch One Tree Hill and two episodes ago, the star player on the basketball team, Q, walked into a gas station and the "attendant" just stood there staring at him. Then Q glanced over to the bak of the store, and there was a dead man lying on the ground, covered in blood. Q turned around to walk out, and as he did, the "attendant" pulled out a gun and shot him. He was 17, he had his whole life ahead of him, but because he was in the wrong place, at the wrong time, he got killed. Yeah I know it is only a TV show, but stuff like that does happen. In school shootings like Columbine, or in gang-related shootings. It happens. So then last night at youth group, the main point of the lesson was about salvation, because we had some new people. My youth pastor said something along the lives of, we think we might have our whole lives ahead of us and that we can accept Christ when we are old and are done having fun, but we don't know how much time we have. That really got to me, not the accepting Christ part, but the fact that I could die tomorrow. Then this morning in chapel, Miss Admiraal talked about perception and reality, and that what people see us as should be the real us. My conclusion: I don't know if I am going to wake up tomorrow so I need to make sure that people get to know the real me, the me that loves God and has dedicated her life to God, and not someone who is a Christian by name only. My life is in God's hands, whatever happens, happens. I want to live for Him and make it obvious to everyone that I have put all of my trust in Him.

One of my friends is my main role model at the moment. Her family moved to the U.S 2 (?) years ago and right now, she does not have a visa and is here illegally. Her parents haven't applied for another one. I would expect her to freak out and be extremely concerned about leaving, I know I would. But she trusts God 100%. She told me that she doesn't want to go back because God has/and is doing amazing things in her life and she doesn't want to leave that. But she knows that God's will might be for her to go back and spread the Gospel in her home-country. She is truly willing to go wherever He wants to take her. The thing that encourages me the most is that she has only been a Christian for a little over a year but her faith is so strong. I look up to her and pray that I can have faith like her and live the rest of my life, however long or short, for Christ like she has.

timothy hamish norman

Okay so I decided that I needed to post about some amazing people in my life. I'll do it randomly, probably every couple of weeks. The first is: Tim!!!!

One of my BEST friends! He is awesome! We have had so many good times together! I think the hardest thing about moving here was definitely leaving him. We are so close. I am pretty sure that no matter where we go in life, we will always be best friends! I mean, we have managed it living half way across the WORLD from each other already. But yeah, I know that I can talk to him about ANYTHING! He is a great advice-giver and someone I trust a lot. Our history goes WAY back! We have pretty much grown up together. His nana was my neighbor and he was always there! We did everything together! We are pretty much siblings, we spent so much time at each others house that it was like we had 2 (3 including nana's) homes. We got in trouble a few times (just a few) but it was still fun! We had a lot of good times when we had water fights, jumped on trampolines, PLAYSTATION (pretty sure that we had a ton of fun doing that for hours and hours!!!!!!!), eating ice cubes, and all that stuff. I have almost NO childhood memories that do nit include Tim. Even now, when we are so far away, we still have fun, even though its not like when we were kids. Seeing him in NZ was amazing. We have both grown up SO much! These past two years are the longest time that we have ever been apart, in our WHOLE lives! We were born 10 months apart, and i know that we were "introduced" pretty soon after i was born. So yeah, thats my post about Tim! I'll try and post pics of us gradually growing up.

bonfire

Yesterday was a pretty cool day. I watched the Incredibles for the first time, and loved it. I did homework and chilled. At 3:00, we picked up my friend and drove to Huntington Beach. It took us like an hour because I did not know what part of the beach the bonfire was at. (The bonfire was for our church's "association" but pretty much the camp people) But, we got there eventually.

My parents dropped us off and we found a group who we were gonna "join" for the afternoon/night. We went down to the water, I got my legs wet but I didn't go in. Then I talked to one of my friends for a while. I said hi to everyone. I saw someone that I REALLY wanted to talk to, but then we had to do like a devotion thing and sing, so we had to sit down. He was across the "circle" from me so I couldn't exactly go talk to him. Then, I got distracted playing volleyball, and watching the sunset. Before I knew it, it was dark and couldn't see anyone, so I didn't get a chance to talk to him.

But yeah, we cooked hot dogs and stuff. Then we made smores. I saw some people that I really wanted to so I was stoked! My friend had told me about an hour before the bonfire that he was bringing someone special but wouldn't tell me who. It turned out to be someone from Riverside who was supposed to be gone for 3 months (including right now). He is the one who keeps me on track with my "smiling" goal. So I was really happy to see him.

Some of those people just make me SO happy! They don't even have to do anything, just being around them makes me so excited and happy! It seriously felt like I was in a huge family there! At like 7:30, my friends who we joined had to leave, so I was kinda nervous coz I didn't really feel like finding someone else to hang out with. So I just stood by the fire pit with the camp marshall and his family. Then another guy, who I saw at camp, but never actually officially met, came and we talked for a while. Then some other people joined us. It was pretty fun! But yeah, standing by the fire made me pretty warm, then when I said goodbye to people, who were "lacking clothing" and standing no where near the fire, they were like, woah you are warm! It was pretty funny. So yeah, I had an amazing time and saw some amazing people! :]

grrrrr

I am going to start this post with a couple of complaints, but then it will get better!

1. why IN THE WORLD do FRESHMAN and people OTHER THAN SENIORS get lockers in the SENIOR HALL?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!!? we have worked hard to become seniors and get the PRIVILEGE of having our lockers in a hallway of our own! they dont deserve to be in OUR hall!!! GRRRRRRR. im sorry but that just bugs the crap out of me!!!!!

2. so mr rhodes has been talking about our senior service hours. i asked him today if going to El Salvador would count for the 10 hours. he asked me when i was going and i said the date, then he said, oh well it will count for your SECOND 5 HOURS but not the freakkin FIRST 5 HOURS because the due date for those is in october. to me, that makes NO sense at all! I mean yeah, okay if i was going to do a day trip to mexico and want it to count for my 10 hours, i could understand them saying it will only count for half, but seriously, i am going for a whole freakin WEEK!!!! gahhhh. that is so dumb. im gonna try and make it count coz i think that is the most retarded thing i have ever heard!

okay, well thats my ughhhhs out of the way! im liking school so far. i have quite a bit of homework but watev. so yeah. tomorrow i am going to a bonfire! i am not really excited about it, but i do wanna see my friends. :] ummm.... i dont really wanna post about anything "serious" right now so i shall wait for another day.

Math: Like usual, none of my close friends in that class, but its math, it doesn't matter. Big class :/

Bible: Thats gonna be fun!

LCB: That is so far, my favorite class. It REALLY made me think today, in a good way! HUGE CLASS!!!! not so happy about that but I have friends so its all good!

Psychology: Me gusta. Didn't do much. Some cool people.

English: I love english but i'm not super happy about the people in my class this semester. I don't really have any close friends. BUT I do have Alicia!! :] That made it better! But yeah, not feelin it so far.

AP Gov: Honestly, I really like it at the moment! Im sure that my opinion will change. Haha. The class is small and there are some awesome people in it! :]
