family

Over the years that I have been here, I have realized how much I love my family! I don't mean my immediate family, i mean people like my dad's cousins, their kids and grandkids, etc. We had quite a few family members here yesterday and today for my grandma's memorial service. We spent a lot of today sitting around listening to stories about my dad and his cousins when they were little, and fun stories like that. It is so much fun! I met most of my family in 2003 when we came for a family reunion but I was too young to really care about them. But now I really want to go and see them! They pretty much live all up the west coast. Some are building a theme park! Awesome! Haha. So yeah. I have only recently realized how awesome my family is! So yeah..... I am happy that the weekend isn't over yet! TWO more days! Yippee! =]

long time no post!

So it has been too long since I posted! A lot of stuff has happened too! I have done a lot of fun things with my family. We went to Disneyland, the Getty center, shopping and stuff like that. I shall post some pics in this post! It was a blast! Last saturday I was so sick....so I unfortunately missed out on Knotts. But oh well. I am glad that I did stay home, I had NO energy and barely ate anything. So yeah, Sunday night, we went to LAX to drop off my family. It was superrrrrr hard saying goodbye but at least I know I will be seeing them in June! So yeah. School has been pretty good this week.... pretty stress free! Luckily! Okay well, yeah, I am really glad that it is the weekend! SLEEP INNN!!! haha. I have also been keeping in touch with my 11-year-old cousin in Austria. We sent them a package a few weeks ago and Natalie emailed me to let me know that they got it. My favorite sentence in the whole email was: "Manuel have smile". It made me happy and also goes along with my "theme" for 08! So yeahh...Okay well Ill post some pics now!

So far, I have gotten good grades on 3/3 [of the ones with posted grades]. So im happy. Today I went to CA adventure with my Aunt, Mom, and cousins. It was fun and there were hardly any people there so we did like all of the rides a few times. It was fun. Okay well i better go. smile

I don't know if you guys have ever noticed the thing under my blog title... "A smile says it all", its a song by Kutless. I love the song so some time ago i decided to put it up there. Well, I never really thought about what it meant until I came home from Austria. If you read one of my previous posts, I said smiling is the same in every language. It took me a while but finally I connected the two. Then I found a cute poem about smiling and some quotes so smiling is now the theme of my blog. I always thought of smiling as something you just do..... but now..... it means SO much more! It's a little late to be a new years resolution so its my "Goal for 08" : NEVER STOP SMILING! =]

my week

This week has definately been one of the "better" weeks of the semester. I did good on both my chem and math tests, I ran the mile faster than I ever have! And...I don't know... I've just been in a good mood I guess. I just finished writing and decorating four letters to my cousins in Austria. The first two were kind of hard because I didn't want to use words that my two youngest cousins wouldn't understand. Then I got to Manuel's.... that was a whole different "difficultness". I kind of just wrote our inside jokes and stuff but the rest I wrote whatever coz I knew he would need help translating it anyway. His was fun to write but still hard. Then I got to the easiest...Melanie's! That was seriously like pure heaven writing to her! I didn't have to worry about the words I used coz I knew she would know what they were. It was fun writing to her! Much more relaxed than the others. Okay well yeah...i better go. Have a good rest of the week everyone!!!!

life

This is a kind of random post....well the 2nd half is 4 sure.

Over the past couple of days I have been thinking....a lot! I have this weird feeling inside me which is telling me I need to take a break and just think about stuff. But it is so hard considering every second I don't do something, I fall asleep. But anyway.... I have realized that the more I see people with "perfect" lives, the more I realize that those lives are the ones that are falling apart inside. I have seen that type of thing from a distance but recently I saw it pretty close to me. Humans are good at putting up fake fronts so that everything seems okay but really their lives are crumbling beneath them. The more I see that, the more it makes me want to have a un-perfect life. So many families are living with a fake front and yet no one else takes time out of their lives to stop and help them, or at least that is how it seems.

For a long time I never knew I had any cousins my age and then I found out that I do and some of us had an automatic bond. Going to Austria kind of changed my life. It made me realize that you don't need to speak the same language to have fun or laugh. Laughing and smiling is something that is worldwide... no matter where you go, smiling always means the same thing. It's the little things in life that make me so happy..... like having a specific star that always seems to be there when you wake up at 2am and can't sleep. Or even someone promising to behave so that you will sit next to them. It's the things that seem so unimportant to others that mean the most to me. A smile from someone who is in a bad mood, laughing at each other after throwing up, looking at someone and realizing that you just broke a small spongebob figurine, watching TV and not understanding a single word and yet still laughing, realizing that 3 people at the table are all sitting in the exact same position as you. Hearing that one noise you have been waiting for all day, seeing someone when they first get up in the morning....bed hair and all. There were a lot of little things in Austria that made my heart smile.
